Need help with some kind of routine, with a slight difference.

I figured it should go in the teen section since this is an issue that many teens may have.

The college is closed for exam season and all I have at home is 2 dumbells, an EZ bar and one of those tricep bar things. My weights only go up to a little under 60kg.

So, I either need to make a new routine working around those (bearing in mind I also don't have any kind of bench, nowhere to do chinups or variations of) OR go to a nearby gym. The only gym nearby worth speaking of is quite a trek.

So before I get into routines, is it worth making a routine with just this equipment or should I get my ass down to the gym, which also costs £££?

Either way I need to make a routine :P

Thanks peeps.

I worked with only dumbbells before, so it's definately possible. You may have some gains, but don't expect much. How much is the gym membership?

Re: Need help with some kind of routine, with a slight difference.

Yeah i've done it before and there were definitely gains, but it was less than ideal. Gym costs i think £2.50 a session, a session is however long you make it. It's not bad, just that i'm tight :P And it's quite a mission to get there and back, there are ones closer by but you have to pay for an induction and the like, and having never been there i don't know if they're any good. The one which I'd go to is owned by the local military base and it's quite old school and i love it. There're no namby pamby machines, just squat racks, masses of free weights, benches, it's really what i feel a gym should be.

For people who'd want to know about diet, i'm open to suggestions. Previously my plan would look something like this:
Breakfast (11:00am) = 3 fried eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of bread, probably a yoghurt.
Snack = tin of tuna
Lunch (1 or 2 pm)= whatevers going, could be a pizza, could be a salad, could be whatever i make.
hour later = protein shake
snack (4pm ish) = oats
dinner (can range between 6pm and 8:30 pm which is less than ideal) = whatevers been made, it's normally a meat and 2 or 3 veg deal, it's always healthy because my dad has diabetes in his family and he's got high cholesterol and a dicky heart.
snack (10pm ish) = often another tin of fish, and/or protein shake.

After the shakes I take amino acids in tablet form, I don't think i'm going to continue taking them once this tub is finished though. And half an hour before I go to sleep I have 3 ZMA capsules.

I also have a large tub of creatine which I have only broken into to taste, I don't know if it's worth starting that till after I'm into a decent routine again though.

Re: Need help with some kind of routine, with a slight difference.

I dont know how long you have off from the campus, but I would do this for a weeks time:

Day 1-Lunge 1/4 mile for time

Day 2-Cardio-Run outside

Day 3-100 pullups
100 pushups
25 burpees
50 shoulder presses
100 crunches
-As fast as you can

Day 4-20-25 yard sprints

Day 5-100 bodyweight squats
100 pushups
100 lunges
100 pullups
100 crunches
2-times through

There ya go, pretty simple!

Re: Need help with some kind of routine, with a slight difference.

It's alright, I've joined the nearest decent gym, it's the army gym and it's full of really decent blokes, including 2 guys from an aiki-jutsu class I go to so that's good.
Thanks anyway though, and 100 pullups :P pffft, This gym is the first place i've been with a pullup bar, and I managed one set of 10. :S
