Man, that really sucks ass. But hey, you're still young and now's the chance to let it heal properly.

Do you know what you can do to avoid this type of injury? Will you get 100% recovery or will there always be a chance of recurring injury with it?

I am so sorry to hear that you're out of the competition. But your health comes first and the weights will still be there (and just as heavy) when you're ready to come back.
no. I don't know exactly what I'll be able to do after recovery. I'd imagine heavy squats will be out of the question for about a year or so. You know, just to make sure that it doesn't happen again or worse, it may tear since it's weak now.

I'm up to walkng up and down the stairs with out holding on to the rail. I can only go up about 2 stories before it's hurting, but that's a zillion times better than I was doing a few days ago.

The doc said not to do any heavy weights for a while, so I already figured my gym reputation would go from "that girl that lifts as much as I do" to "that girl doing stuff with the pink dumbbells."

I probably won't do leg work inthe gym for a while (atleast not knee bending stuff). I'll just do my rehab work at home and work my way up to weight bearing stuff later on. I'm almost got the pain worked out, but with full extension to locking my knee is still enough to make me cringe. I'm sure in a week or so that feeling will be gone.

I've got my anti-inflammatories and take them regularly. They seem to help a ton!!

Well, I've gotta run. I need to get some pics from The Polar Express to make a collage for my son.

Have a good weekend you all!

sdb, just a thought, but do you want us to extend the deadline for the contest by a couple of months, so you get time to heal and can still participate?

Just a thought - hopefully it's feeling better already.
