Rep Power: 0 | | | Mexico does great work Alright, I was an athlete from grade 3 - 12, involved in waterpolo, track, cross country, and diving teams.... Now i'm going into my 3rd year of college and I haven't been on any teams or anything since Graduating. I put on weight after stopping the sports, but i'm not fat. I'm confused as to where exactly I should be... When I was in sports, there was nothing to me, it was gross looking back, probably 0 percent body fat... I like where my hips and chest have curved to be where I am now, but I want to tone, without losing the good parts. I went to mexico and the food wasn't great... I noticed I ate so much less when I came back from spring break that I dropped a quick 35 pounds from april to august without doing anything. Its just I don't have that huge apetite, although I do eat plenty.... I'm afraid that I'm going to balloon back the lost pounds... what are some easy toning excercises for a girl always on the go... I have very little gym time... in need of something that works at home in the morning.... thanks guys |

Rep Power: 110 | | | Toning is a myth. You can't tone or shape muscles...its controlled by genetics.
Your best bet is moderate reps (6-8) with fairly heavy weights.
get a set of dumbbells, or powerblocks, and a simple flat to incline bench. chest presses, shoulder presses, bent over rows, lunges and squats. that's going to give you some definition to your muscles, makes you stronger and leaner. add a bit of cardio to that too. |

Toning is not a myth and sure if obesity is in your genes there will be set backs. But if you work in cardio with high reps every day, lean muscle mass will follow. |

Rep Power: 110 | | | How is toning not a myth? Please explain to me how to 'tone'? do you mean high reps with low weight? exactly HOW does that tone the muscle?
do you think that with high reps, you can alter the shape of your muscle, which is determined by genetics?? | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
