Yeah i got good results from it. It's lasted me a long time too. I dont' think it's that expensive, seeing as how it's 30 bucks for about 120 days. I think you should experiment with it.

not for me. i dont support a company or product that tells outright lies to sell a product. everything they claim about regular creatine monohydrate is bull****, plain and simple

i'm not a sucker and would not advise others not to be suckered into using this

Because it costs 2-3 as much as creatine monohydrate, and there's not one shred of scientific research that has proven Kre-alkalyn or Creatine Ethyl Ester are any more effective (better bio-availability, better uptake, gets more creatine into the muscle) than monohydrate.

Its not good for me because it un-necessarily costs more than its worth.

The fact of the matter is, the FDA has banned, or is trying to ban most supplements, including all the pro-hormones and pro-steroids that worked and were legal.

Thus supp. manufacturers are very limited now in what they can 'invent' that the FDA will allow them to sell.
So they've turned to some good practices like better protein power blends...and some shady practices like re-inventing creatine.

That said: if you can provide me with links to ACTUAL scientific research papers that show Kre-alkalyn is better than monohydrate, I'll buy two bottles...one for you, and one for me.

No marketing mumbo jumbo, no personal experiences....hardcore scientific evidence in the form of a valid research doc.

bs claim #1: no loading

we've been knowing since 1996 that there was no need to load "regular" creatine monohydrate. other studies done in 1999 and in 2003 also confirmed this

bs claim #2: zero cycling

we now know there's really no need to cycle creatine. ppl use to say to cycle based on animal studies where they were given like 5-10 times the amount used in human studies. but recent research on humans says otherwise.

bs claim #3: zero side effects

in jeff voleks study "Scientific basis and practical aspects of creatine supplementation for athletes" in 2004 they found In summary, the predominance of research indicates that creatine supplementation represents a safe, effective, and legal method to enhance muscle size and strength responses to resistance training.

bs claim #4: highly unstable in liquids

"Creatine in aqueous solution is reasonably stable for up to 8h at 25°C, pH 7.5 or 6.5. Breakdown after 3 days at pH 5.5, 4.5 and 3.5 was 4%, 12% and 21% respectively. If Creatine is not used immediately after it is dissolved in water it should be stored at a low temperature to slow down the degradation. The solubility of Creatine Monohydrate is 14 g per liter at 25°C (1.4%) and 8.5 g at 4°C."

bs claim #5: "regular creatine is not well absorbed"

Vanakoski J, Kosunen V, Meririnne E, Seppala T. Creatine
and caffeine in anaerobic and aerobic exercise: effects on
physical performance and pharmacokinetic considerations. Int
J Clin Pharmacol Ther. 1998 May;36(5):258-62.

"Creatine was rapidly and efficiently absorbed, as reflected
by plasma concentrations."

I am using Kre-Alkalyn and have been getting great results from it. I got 120 capsules for $13 taking 1 to 2 pills at a time. If you work out every single day this product will only last a month but I space my work outs to every other day and it will last me 2 months and I am very happy with this product as well as many other people who I know are using it.

yer supposed to take creatine EVERY DAY. creatine use is about hitting and maintaining creatine saturation. if you skip days, you lower total saturation.

nobody said Kre doesn't work..only that they outright lie about its benefits, and that its much cheaper to use monohydrate which is just as effective (possibly MORE effective since no real scientists test 'buffered creatine' products).

but hey, if your money grows on trees, go for it!

I've heard alot of people who only take post workout. Because once the creatine stores are full, they are full. And if you don't take it on a day you don't train, you won't lose much.

I've heard the same thing Karky, but I've also heard the opposite...that even on off days when you don't use the creatine, the body is still removing the excess because it never really sees a need for all that extra creatine, even though you can actually use it.

for that reason, I usually go with only 3g, every single day. someone I respect offered that dosage...can't recall if it was t-nation or one of Berardi's articles.

I dont care about all the research and everything but heres my personal experience of it.

I got results but no more so than with mono

It was cheap

the capsules were easy to take I just swallowed it.

It was good but no better than mono in my opinion.
