Dips or Close Grip Bench Press?

Which would you say is best for building MASS on your triceps?

They are really close actually. For an overall mass builder dips are better. But if its more of an isolation (even though its not an isolation exercise by any means) cgbp is best.

But it looks like dips could have the edge.

What about dips being safer too guys?? If you fail, you just stop and drop down... on CGBP, your f*cked! lol

Like I said both have their benefits, I would just use both. I have seen people hurt on dips, whereas I have never seen anything bad on CGBP!

Really?! I've seen someone stuck there with their arms trapped cos they had the grip to far in and the bar was tight against their chest! lol

Never seen a dips incident, but heard of a few - mostly when doing weighted dips!

I do both and love it. IMO dips (weighted) can be very dangerous with too much weight and bad form.

Well anything can be dangerous with alot of weight and poor form, but I for one love heavy dips. They make my triceps feel like they may explode.

Agreed. Weighted dips are one of my favorite lifts.

As you can see in my journal, I did both dips and close grip bench yesterday and my triceps haven't be so sore in a long time

My body responds well to close grips. I guess I do dips just for fun because I really dont seem to get a good workout nor size from them.

I can do 225 lbs. for reps on close grips and get a great workout and my tri's seem to respond.

The first time I felt like my triceps were actually worked thouroughly on dips was after I started hanging 4 45lb weights.
