Rep Power: 0 | | | Take cottage cheese, then put a layer a fruit over it (strawberries and blackberries taste great) then top it with a layer of sliced almonds and granola. Very good for you and tastes like a fancy desert.

Rep Power: 12 | | | Like anything else though, cottage cheese has a downside, there is a lot of sodium in just about every type of it, might not be a problem for most of you but some people are supposed to be watching sodium. Just a little info for those of you on sodium restrictions, the low or no fat cottage cheese usually has more sodium than the others. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I like to eat it with sprouts, or with 12 Grain dry toast, also if you take slices of red or green peppers, or carrots, use it like a dip except use a spoon to eat it along side some raw veggies...
Start out in small portions, eat it a bit every day for a week and before you know it you wont notice your dislike for it. |

Rep Power: 13 | | | Is there anything bad about having low-fat cottage cheese 30 minutes to 1 hr before bed after a workout? (this is after dinner) Like will it just be stored as fat?
Thanx

Rep Power: 9 | | | Here in Finland cottage cheese tastes like candy. I always eat it like that, or in breads.
Tim: no, it won't just be stored as fat.

Rep Power: 18 | | | a bowl of c.c. with about a spoonful of strawberry jam is great. i think the jam, because its sugar, transports the protein really quickly into the blood stream as well... but i could be wrong...

Rep Power: 8 | | Cottage cheese Is great on baked potatoes! I like to have it with salsa - dipping celery, peppers, carrots and whatever other veggie you like. I have also used a hand blender to puree it into a veggie soup. Gives the soup a creamy texture and gives you extra protein. I'm having it right now with 1/2 peach, and a scoop of fat free vanilla yogurt... man I could go on for hours! |

Rep Power: 8 | | I've also seen it named huttenkase...well, actually it has a double dot on one or more of the vowels but I've forgotten which vowels and I also can't find those on the keyboard.
I like it with squeezed lemon and a bit of sambal.
Or on bread with any sort of sliced meat or fish on it and tomatos.
It also makes great salad dressing. :-P | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
